Happy Birthday Aya!!

Aya is officially 3 years old today! We celebrated a few days early and had her birthday party this past saturday at my house. We rented a waterslide, catered food, and had arts and crafts for the kiddies to do. She was really looking forward to having her birthday this year since she can actually comprehend what having a birthday is all about. Plus, for the past 2 months she has been telling everyone that her birthday was May 27th, so I felt like I couldn't skimp by on her birthday this year. It seemed to go pretty well though and she had lots of fun but I'm definatly glad it's over and done with! Birthday parties can be such work! Here are some pictures of the party...

A little of this and a little of that...

So I've decided I don't do such a good job at posting in my blog. I am pretty good about taking pictures since I carry my camera with me pretty much everywhere I go but getting them printed or posted on my blog is a different story. Here are some random pictures I've taken recently but never posted.

Last minute trip to the zoo...
My friends and I had decided to go to the zoo but for some reason it got canceled the day of and my sisters just so happened to be going to the zoo the same day! They have an annual pass so they go quite frequently...but it worked out well for us because Aya was really looking forward to seeing all the animals. I was actually really excited to take Kashus since the last time we went was when Kash was a little baby. It was fun to see his expressions when he saw the animals in real life since he usually sees them in books and in our baby einstein videos.

It was spring break so we had a little extra help from the older girls. They were our offical stroller pushers!

EASTER...
This year for Easter I took Aya and Kashus to an easter egg hunt in Kaneohe where they had activities for the kids and crafts for them to do as well. Kash seemed to get a hang of the egg hunt fairly quickly and found it easier to go to people's baskets and steal their eggs instead of trying to find his own. It was fun for the kids though and got us out of the house for the afternoon.

Easter Sunday was spent in Aiea with the rest of the Sakuma clan. We are the only ones that don't live in Aiea...which I seem to get a lot of flack for from one particular sister. We spent the night on Saturday at my sisters and pretty much spent the whole weekend with family which Aya and Kashus loved! Aya never wants to leave to go home when we are in town with the cousins. We went to church with them, had our own little easter egg hunt in my sister's backyard and had a nice easter dinner afterwards.

OUR GARDEN...
Dean has been complaining about the front of our yard for quite some time now because it used to get nice and muddy and overgrown with weeds. I don't have much of a green thumb and wasn't too excited about the gardening attempt at first but it ended up not turning out so bad. Poor Dean did most of the work himself since I had to patrol the kid situation and make sure Kash didn't run out in the middle of the road...which he definately has no fear doing. They had fun digging in the dirt and camping out in their new kiddie lawn chairs.

Here is how it turned out. We did this a few weeks ago but I just haven't gotten around to posting it.
